Sorry for the bright sunlight and janky angles, I took these pictures in haste to get them out to my tweeple.
Smooth tan leather.
The closure is the flattest I've seen so far on a Franklin Covey binder. It's a small metal stud that fits into a magnetic ring so it opens and closes easily yet holds tight.
Inside, sorry for the shadows. Secretarial pockets front and back, card pockets front, zip pocket back, elasticated pen loop front.
Right side.
Left side.
I did a total-guts transfer from my Veronica. This binder has 1 3/8 rings and could definitely hold more pages.
There still some room on them thar rings!
It's a fatty, but oh so comprehensive.
JUST when I had completely committed to my bound day per page planner. Now what??
oh I like!
ReplyDeleteIt's a shame you have a ring binder aversion because this is irresistable and so practical. I'm a bit envious, but in a good way.
ReplyDeleteI think my green binder has 1-3/8" rings. It makes a HUGE difference! I can hold everything I want and it's still easy to turn the pages.
ReplyDeleteThey told me at the Franklin Covey store today that every 1/2" of ring holds about 50 pages. 50 pages is a lot!
Good luck making a decision!
Perhaps you'll have to give it another month calling the dog and writing in both. Personally the ring binder won for me hands down. I just got my favorite binder about a week ago (looks a lot like yours!) and fell in love with the look and feel of it. I cuddle it, for heaven's sake. Being in love with the look and feel is very important to being happy with a planner. I hope you can plunge in and make that decision before long!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great closure! I've never seen that. Is it an older model?
ReplyDeleteI think it must be somewhat older. I don't know what the name of this model is, but it's not currently available on the FC website.
DeleteThis is lovely! Colour me green with envy. ;)
ReplyDeleteLaurie,
ReplyDeleteI bought a GIGANTIC zipped Franklin Quest (predecessor to Franklin Covey) binder with 1.5 inch rings, and at first was not too pleased, it seemed so enormous and awkward, but I'm coming to love it. And I definitely love the green original FC compact 2PPD inserts. They don't come with all the thorough info pages that DayTimer ships with their inserts, but the paper is very good, the day planning layout is nearly IDEAL and the extra half inch of writing space is really wonderful. My binder also has a fairly large gusseted zip pocket on the outside which I just realized I can slip my BlackBerry into... And suddenly I realize that I can carry this thing without a bag! Essentially everything I need is in the planner itself, and all securely held within the zip. Very handy!
Your binder here is really lovely! I hope it works out for you.
Amazing Laurie, I love the way the leather looks and the color too
ReplyDeleteTracy
What a ring binder? Have I converted you to the joys of being able to add and change pages at will? Shame on me!

Love this. Such a cheery, bright color.
ReplyDeleteIt IS a very happy color! And the leather is so smooth and nice to handle. I'm really loving this binder!
DeleteUpdate: I've been using this binder ever since I got it, and it's absolutely irresistible. I love how the smooth leather feels in my hands, the classic style and the excellent interior pocket configuration. The rings are the perfect size. Love it!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's a stunning FC, Laurie!
ReplyDeleteOut of curiosity, did you ever find out the name of the binder please?
ReplyDeleteNo, I never did. I also don't know when it was made, but it's a style that has been discontinued for awhile.
ReplyDeleteI love this binder. Is this classic or compact size?
ReplyDeleteIn my rush to get the photos posted I didn't even specify! Sorry for the oversight. This is a Compact size. :)
