Today is the first day in the 2011-2012 Moleskine 18 month planners! These planners come in the super-popular Weekly Notebook format, or the Horizontal Weekly format. They come in a variety of sizes including pocket, large and extra-large.
The 18 month planners have monthly and weekly views. They begin today, and go all the way through the end of December 2012.
If you are in need of a new planner for whatever reason, are on an academic year, are transitioning from academic to calendar year planner needs, or need to start a new planner any time between now and December, you'll want to check these planners out!

I started my red pocket one last week....just wrote in the days in the couple of pages before the weekly pages started. SO happy to have a full week outlined in mine for this week. It's so darned PRETTY!
ReplyDeleteYay! Are you excited? :D How is the WD working this week?
ReplyDeleteAs you might imagine, I'm mightily torn between this one and the WD!
ReplyDeleteLast year I bought a hard cover red 18-mo weekly. I spent some time adding in dates, etc. and putting the cute little stickers in. Then ... the hard cover annoyed me. It's sitting in my closet with all the other planner rejects. Fickle? Who, me?!
ReplyDeleteJust discovered your blog in my quest for the perfect planner....for me. Love it and have been searching your archives for over an hour. I'm looking for something super simple: don't really use weekly/daily pages, so I just want monthly views, blank pages for notes and a pocket for misc. Stickers and cute girly stuff would be a nice addition. Any suggestions???
ReplyDeleteHi mindy, glad you like my blog!
ReplyDeleteThere are several options for monthly-only planners. Moleskine makes a monthly notebook that has the month across the two-page spread, and between each month there's a two-page spread that's lined for notes, and lots of notes pages in the back. Moleskines have a pocket in the back, and you could decorate it however you like. I don't know if you could find one for this year, they might be sold out. The 2012 versions are available now.
A monthly planner I've never tried is the BizziMom planner (www.bizzimom.com), it has big monthly calendars that fold into a normal-size book.
Also if you search on Amazon there are several brands of monthly-only planners to choose from.
Good luck finding what works best for you! :)
I think I'm gonna go with the 18-month Moleskine. Sounds about as close to what I'm looking for as I'm going to get.
ReplyDeleteI had a BizziMom planner for this past school year. Great size for purse or bag, sturdy, pages are card stock so they are thick and sturdy, blank tear-out pages in the back. It's just a little cumbersome to fold the months in and out versus flipping through pages, and there is only a small 'notes' area on each month. No space for 'extras', but a neat concept.
Mindy just to give you a heads-up, the 18 month Moleskine planners are all weekly, and they have month per page calendars so the daily boxes aren't that large to write in (unless you get the Extra Large weekly notebook, but if you aren't going to use the weekly pages that's an awful lot of unused book to carry around with you.
ReplyDeleteI recommend you get a monthly-calendar so that you don't have to carry around unused weekly pages.
I'm sure you could find an academic-year monthly planner on Amazon, or at Staples or Office Max (and probably also Barnes and Noble right now).
Alternatively, Uncalendar makes an undated monthly planner you can start any time. The pages are full size (8 1/2 x 11) so the book is big but it's super-slim so it's not huge. You can see the Uncalendar monthly here:

(Also it's super-cheap which is a bonus!)
Laurie,
ReplyDeleteThanks for your suggestion for a planner on an earlier entry. I think I'm going to try the Moleskine 18 month in XL. I like the idea of notes on the right and the days on the left along with the monthly calendar. I hope this one works--if not, I can start looking at the school supplies as they begin to show up in the stores here in the US.
THANKS!!
I decided to go with the QuickNotes monthly planner. Looks just about perfect. Full month on left page and full page for notes on right page. Then the weekly views are just two-page spreads. Now, if it would just get here!
ReplyDeletemindy congrats on your new planner, I hope it works well for you! :)
